1921 NY World Series Press Inkwell, Polo Grounds, New York. Absolutely rare sterling silver over cut glass inkwell with Blue & White enamel baseball press logo. Very well made Press premium for the Baseball World series between the NY Giants and the NY Yankees. The year after Babe Ruth Switched from pitching to fielding and batting. This was the first World Series played entirely in one park. All eight games were played at the Polo Grounds in upper Manhattan, New York. 1921 was the first of three straight seasons in which the Yankees would lead the majors in wins. Babe Ruth broke the single season home run record for the third consecutive season by hitting 59 home runs in 152 games. This inkwell is in excellent condition with no flaws in the enamel. It has the sterling touch marks on the lid. It measures 2 3/4 inches tall and wide at the base. Stunning example.
