Description
acrylic paint and mediums and resin on mounted plywood 30 x 30 x 2 title: The Rough With the Smooth Pen Dalton is interested in the differences between screen based/printed imagery and actual painting and includes both in her artworks. Paradoxically - this one would be best seen IRL ... in real life. It's a small painting that has a tactile surface: a reflective shiny background, painted 'halftones' contrasting with rough impastos. Dr Pen Dalton spent many years as a researcher, writer, critic and lecturer in contemporary arts . She is primarily interested in relations of difference: differences in gender and genre, race and colour, class and catgories expressed in digital and analogue work. Her artworks are held in various national collections: eg ArtUk, [The National Art Collection] The Victoria and Albert Museum Print collection, Musee d'Affiches in Paris, the Komechack Art Gallery, Chicago and she is currently being interviewed for inclusion in the GB National Archive.
