This piece is one of a series of figures in a landscape; two figures stand apart; silhouetted and looking out over water, they appear lost in their own thoughts; are they together, or only just aware of each other? Wind whips across the foreground, blowing the woman's hair and the tall grasses, in a frozen moment like a fragment from a cinematic scene. Andrew trained at The Ruskin School of Art in Oxford before a first career in film making; he then returned to painting and has since exhibited widely in the UK and other parts of Europe.
