A Givenchy black silk off-the-shoulder blouse with a gold roped halter-neck. The blouse is unstructured and has an elasticated hem which brings in the blouse and creates volume, creating a bubble effect, a signature of Givenchy, who would use limited seams and excessive fabric to create bold shapes and silhouettes. His spring 1982 collection featured exposed shoulders and gathered hems that played on volume.

Welch wore the blouse to a dinner and fashion show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art sponsored by designer Valentino in 1982.
