The rug is professionally cleaned. TABRIZ: These rugs are made in workshops in the town of Tabriz, in North-West Iran. The pile of a good Tabriz is short and stiff. The current production of rugs is very large, and the quality varies from excellent artistic craftsmanship to simpler, cheaper bazaar qualities. The decoration may consist of a central medallion surrounded by arabesques, weeping willows and cypress trees. Another popular motif is the four seasons, which depict the life of the Persian peasant during spring, summer, autumn and winter.
