Description
This is a small Guangxu-period blue and white porcelain jar, adorned with patterns of ladies and children. The background is an ivory white, against which the blue and white painting stands out with vivid contrast and delicate detail. The figures of the ladies and children are portrayed vividly, surrounded by plants and objects that add a classical literati charm to the scene. Above the body of the jar, there is an inscription imitating the ?Kangxi Nian Zhi? mark, but it was actually made during the Guangxu period. This style is commonly found in antique-replica porcelains from the late Qing dynasty. The overall shape is elegant, representing the traditional craftsmanship and culture of the late Qing and early Republican periods.
