Description
This is a bowl from ancient China, late Ming Dynasty. It is a shipwreck bowl as you can see much of the glaze's shine has changed to a satin finish. The color of the glaze owns to a desirable blueish purple. A typical pigment of the late Ming. The lovely motif inside is typical of the Wanli reign 1573-1620 and the bottom mark is an auspicious one that was used over a number of reigns. The bowl was recently purchased from a collector in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The collector also known as Yai, has been collecting for over forty years. The bowl has one hairline crack and some discoloration. The measurements are 12.2cm wide by 6.1cm high.
