Locker's work has been compared to artists of the Romantic period such as Cole, Ruisdael and Claude Lorrain, as well as the American Hudson River painters. Locker, a native of New York City, was born in 1937. He has a B.A. in Art History from the University of Chicago and an M.A. in Painting from American University. Locker has been a Professor of Humanities at Shimer College in Mount Carol, Illinois and a Professor of Fine Arts at Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. His solo exhibitions include London, New York, Washington, Chicago and many other major cities.
