Description
An Edwardian 18ct gold ruby and diamond cluster ring. The graduated oval and circular-shape ruby line, within a rose-cut diamond marquise-shape surround, to the scrolling bifurcated shoulders and plain band. Two diamonds deficient. Hallmarks for Chester, 1903. Weight 2.6gms.
Condition
Overall condition good to fair. Minor surface wear in keeping with age. Possible replacement band. Rubies well matched, red with moderate colour saturation. Fairly good clarity with typical inclusions, two in good with minor abrasion and nibbles, one with significant surface abrasion. Please see Important Notices for Purchasers in our catalogue for coloured gemstones. Due to the nature of the rose-cut it is not possible to calculate a total diamond weight. Based on the surface spread alone of the diamonds, they appear to occupy the same surface space as diamonds with an estimated total weight of 0.10ct, however it is not possible to gauge the depth of the stones, this estimated weight does not reflect the true weight of the diamonds in any way. Diamonds fairly bright and well matched. Individual size prevents accurate colour/clarity assessment. Some profuse inclusions. Diamonds in fair condition with abrasion and nibbles. Ring size Q.
