First quarter 20th century, labeled ''Johann Gottlob Ficker Vilino / Corretpontent Romani Cremona'', further labeled ''Repaired By / Herman Weaver / Baltimore, Md. / Wash. D.C. 1937'' (length of one-piece back: 14'', overall length: 23.5''); the bow stamped ''Lupot'' to the octagonal stick (length: 29.25''); and a hard case labeled ''Original Jaeger Etui'' and stamped ''Made in West-Germany'', with blue velvet lining and canvas cover (31.5'' L x 10'' W x 5''), est:$1000/1500
Condition
Condition: Generally good condition. Violin with general marks, scratches and rubbed wear commensurate with age and use, including very minor shallow abrasions along edge of rib on lower right front. Extensive professional repairs and restorations. Tight cracks to front including: One running full length of body through f-hole on right side; one 3'' on lower right, one 1'' on lower right, and one on each side of top where neck meets body- 1'' and 1.625''. Hair of bow probably needs replacement. Case in very good condition with only minor marks and rubbed wear to exterior; heavier rubbed wear to handle.
