One electronically tested 18KT white gold ladies cast & assembled tanzanite and diamond necklace with a bright polish finish. Condition is new, good workmanship. Sixteen and one-half inch length necklace features a tanzanite set within a two tiered diamond lattice gallery, supported by a ribbon of diamonds and matching white gold links, terminating in a concealed clasp with safety. Identified with markings of “750”. Containing: One prong set rectangular mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 21.90 x 15.35 x 10.65mm, approximate weight of 36,86ct. Clarity is eye clean, type I, medium dark, moderately strong, violetish blue color, (GIA bP 6/4), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. The stone displays 30% extinction. Colored Stone Grading Report attached. Graded in the setting. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs is gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. One hundred sixty-three prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 2.40 – 2.10 x 1.35mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 163 Stones = 7.79ct. Graded in the setting.
