Pre-Columbian, Chavin Culture, Peru 1200-1000 BCE.
Stone fragment of a stele depicting a jaguar deity with big nose frills, ferocious claws and serpent-like sashes coming out of its mouth. Border on right side with typical Chavin glyph-like pattern. Museum-quality stand. Stele itself measures 19"H x 13"W x ~3"thick.
Published in the book, "Shamanism and Hallucinogenic Rites of the Chavin People," Denmark, Copenhagen. Exhibit done in cooperation with the Danish National Museum.
