STORY/DESCRIPTION:Signed by artist F. Fabiano, a rare 'Michelin Enveloppe Velo' advertising poster, French, 1916, printed in full color on paper by Chaix of Paris, depicting The Michelin Man ""Mons. Bibendum"" and a nicely dressed young lady showing Michelin tires and inner tubes, with an authentic French poster tax paid stamp. The dominant colors green, blue, and yellow with a touch of red and the all-white tires, tubes, and Michelin Man.What is implied by The Michelin Man, ""Bibendum,"" is your health and safety. The Michelin tyre will protect you from obstacles. With arms outstretched, the implication is that Michelin tires will protect women from not only road hazards but all hazards.The Michelin Man's, ""Bibendum's"" shape would change over the years. The original logo, as depicted here was based on bicycle tires, wore pince-nez glasses with a lanyard, and smoked a cigar. In time, ""Bibendum"" would be shown running and slimmed down, no cigar or glasses, and sleek modern performance car tires.
