Description
Tatsuzo Shimaoka (1919-2007). Stoneware vase of geometric bottle form decorated with white slip. Measures 9" high. Impressed potter's seal underfoot. Comes with the original wood presentation box, measuring 10.25" high and 6" square. In 1996 Tatsuzo was designated a Living National Treasure (Ningen Kokuho) by the Japanese Government.
