Description
Pre-Columbian, from Northern Peru, Moche I or II, Ca 100 to 300 CE. Solid copper ceremonial knife (Tumi) depicting a standing lord warrior, surrounded by a Halo of War Club’s and Shield Inlaid with Royal Blue Turquoise. Warrior holds a “Blood Letting" beaker in one hand and a war club and shield with inlaid turquoise in the other. His eyes are inlaid with green turquoise and his features are one of aggression! He’s wearing a Tumi Shaped Headdress its rear decorated with Royal Blue Turquoise and a Coaxl or Warrior Flap Insigna on its back. One can see as well two war clubs and shields decorated with blue turquoise, as well as six war shields decorated with the same turquoise. Custom museum-quality stand. Tumi itself measures 6"L x 1-1/2"W at widest. A stunning work of inlay art! **A similar Tumi sold at Christies in NY for $12 000,
