this is an Ames Model 1840 Sabre that happen to be made in 1849 at the factory in Cabotville, MA AKA Chicopee, MA. Measures 43 inches in length. he blade reads Ames Meg CO. Cabotville 1849 and on the other side of the blade reads US WD.

Condition

On the blade I see black and some pitting. The wire grip is very tight. In as found condition. As is.
