A beautiful original antique pastel painting on paper. Painted by Charles Warren Eaton Born in New York 1857 Died 1937. Famous listed artist well known for his Tonalist style of painting. He studied under George Inness. And was inspired by teh French Barbizon school paintings. This is a beautiful landscape scene with a pair of old cottage buildings or houses in th background with a fence. A tall tree in the foreground & a single lown cow grazing in a field. Beautiful Catskill mountains in the background of the scene. A watersource in the foreground as well, a pond or river. Some rocks, and lots of trees and shrubs etc.. Mounted in an old frame. Has old oxidised wood backing. In between the paper painting and the wood backing I can see an old antique newspaper sheet. I could see one article was for some land for sale in the Catskills. Very interesting. measures 17" by 27"
