Brooklyn Bridge, 1983 is a Screenprint on Lenox Museum Board, Signed and numbered 83 out of 200 lower left in pencil, plus Printers embossed stamp. Printed by Rupert Jasen Smith, New York. Published by The 1983 Brooklyn Bridge Centennial Commission, Inc. Andy Warhol created his Brooklyn Bridge print (1983) after a photograph from the permanent collection of the Museum of the City of New York. The work was commissioned by the Brooklyn Bridge Centennial Commission to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Brooklyn Bridge. This original screenprint shows two images of the bridge set in opposing directions and updated with a Pop palette of orange, yellow, teal, magenta, and purple. Provenance as follows: Private Collection, New York: Private Collection, Stockholm : Previously sold for $70,000usd.
Condition
The Screenprint inks are is still extremely bright, vivid, bold & expressive. No scuff marks, bending, rips or repair work. Print is in a very good condition. No smudging on the verso pencil signature, which is completely fluid & in soft pencil.
