Item Details
Description
Beatles Two 12in reel-to-reel master tapes (in original boxes) of a Beatles interview with Jerry G in August 1965. Jerry accompanied and interviewed the boys on their 65 and 66 tours. There were 3 or 4 known and legitimately released Beatles interview albums but none included any of the material contained on these master tapes. Letter of master tape qualification and authenticity signed by Jerry G is included in this lot. The tapes “safety masters” consist of 33 minutes of interviews taped during the Beatle’s 1965-1966 U.S. Tour by disc jockey Jerry G Bishop. Highlights of the tapes are the Beatle’s impressions of Elvis on the day after meeting him for the first time including their opinions of his music, lifestyle, and the potential of doing a joint Elvis/Beatles movie with a Western theme and comments on their past and future financial creative and business interests; John’s musings about modern music including Broadway show tunes, folk rock, and the future revolution of Rock and Roll along with his love of performing, crowds, and his disdain for authority.
