Description
An Original 1966 Hofner left Handed Violin Bass Guitar used by Paul McCartney in 2002. This iconic guitar will forever be associated with Paul McCartney and The Beatles. Very few, if any, that have been used by Paul, have been offered for sale. In 2002 Paul McCartney embarked on his Drivin’ USA tour after having played at the Superbowl and appearing to perform ‘Yesterday’ at the Liverpool Empire for a George Harrison tribute concert. Prior to the tour On 21st of February 2002 Paul hired a number of instruments including the left handed Hofner for use at a sound stage in London for either a rehearsal or photo/video shoot prior to the tour starting. The Hofner was ordered through a video production company for use by Paul McCartney for one day. The guitar comes with copies of the original invoice detailing the names of the production company, The sound stage, and of course Paul McCartney as the artiste. It also comes with a letter of Authenticity from the hire company, with a further letter detailing how the guitar was hired before by McCartney for use at a Birmingham NEC concert circa 97/98 and a copy of a subsequent hire of another instrument from the same company made out to ‘Sir’ Paul McCartney and ordered by Paul’s assistant John Hammel with Paul’s company MPL as the invoice address.
