Michael Jackson stage-worn 'Thriller' glove

LOT PASSED|ESTIMATE: £20,000 - £30,000|Sell a Similar Item
Michael Jackson stage glove. This glove is called “The Thriller Glove”. They were made of mother of pearl disks (before the fancier rhinestone gloves that in theory Elizabeth Taylor suggested that he wear). This particular glove was given by a VIP in Michael’s entourage at the 1984 American Music Awards’ rehearsals. The broadcast was from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and only super-powerfull VIPs were allowed to park their personal cars near the building. A Dick Clark Productions employee was bringing his wife to the show and decided because of the huge traffic problems to take a limo. It ended up, the employee did not need his parking space and gave MJs VIP person his wristband and parking pass so a place next to the building would be available. The day of the show, two days later, MJs person gifted our vendor’s vendor with the glove as a gesture of thanks.
