Description

French Figural Silk Thread Bronze Mantle Clock. The case depicts the classic winged figure of Amour in a medium dark brown patina, he is standing beside a pedestal, draped with a robe, holding a shield which reads Amour et Gloire (Love & Glory), behind the shield is a helmet with a pair of doves representing the theme of love; has a turned bronze finial over a green marble platform with wreath mounts and a bronze base with turned feet, beautiful dore finish. 4.5 in. Convex porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals and Arabic 15 minute markers, hairline at 12 O’clock and blued open moon hands; early, round, brass, silk thread movement has half hour count wheel strike mechanism with a steel bell. In very good condition with a clean finish, no breaks or repairs, movement is running. 16.5 in. high x 11.5 in. wide x 5 in. deep.

Condition

The finial on the right side of the case does not appear to be original.
