The Rolls Royce Silver Spur II is the long-wheelbase sibling of the Silver Spirit. Both versions replaced the Silver Wraith and Silver Shadow respectively and were introduced at the 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show. They were redesigned to be much more rounded and less upright, the work of Austrian stylist Fritz Feller, but the main innovation was the introduction of the Automatic Ride Control. The dashboard also modernized with the addition of two more bull's eye ventilation outlets added to the fascia. Other main innovations were the adoption of ABS and fuel injection. These models were also the first Rolls Royces to have the disappearing Spirit of Ecstacy hood ornament, which sinks into the radiator shell upon impact. The Silver Spur II and Silver Shadow were in production from 1989 - 1993. The production run of the Silver Spur II was 1,658.
