Description
Developed in the 1950's, the Cutie Pie Geiger Counter was designed at the Hanford nuclear plant and manufactured offsite. This unit was acquired by NASA and probably used for post flight radiation testing. Engraved on the side of this unit is "Model CP-3, serial number 299, with Technical Associates, Canoga Park, CA on the label on the sensor door. A small metal plate reads "NASA CAL/CERT KSC Z63450". There are two operating controls: a zero adjust and the range selector. According to the consignor this equipment still works, although lacking anything radioactive we have not tested it ourselves. An important early artifact.
