Japanese NCO Type 95 Army Sword, #123650, with Tokyo first inspection mark and Kokura Arsenal identification stamp, 27-1/2'' blade, 36-1/2'' overall, with cast aluminum and painted handle as is correct for this original 1935 design. On Setp. 17, 1940, the Type 95 sword was authorized for officer candidates as well. Condition is fine with beautiful bright blade showing only minor scuffs from insertion to scabbard. Paint to handle is approx. 92% present with thinning and wear-thru at highpoints of simulated wrap. Japanese Army green painted scabbard retains approx. 92% paint as well with areas of thinning near hanger, and two pronounced dings to scabbard near drag. Standard first type pierced tsuba with light giltwork.
