Extremely Rare 1 of Only 2 Mfg'd - The Gladiator Sword, by John Nelson Cooper (1906-1987), 17-3/4'' blade, 23-1/2'' overall, chocolate brown quilted micarta handle with 12-rivet construction, brass pommel and guard, with 11-1/2'' deep fuller. Left side center of blade at ricasso marked with Cooper eagle logo. Original receipt, dated October 1993, is included from Cooper Knives, Burbank, CA. John Nelson Cooper mfg'd custom handmade knives from 1924 to late 1981 and used a patented stock removal method. He is known as the longest continuous maker of custom made knives in the U.S. Cooper knives are highly prized and seldom offered for sale. Condition is excellent showing just moderate toning to brass parts. Blade with minor micro-scratching. Retaining part of its original shipping wrap. A rare and unique opportunity to own one of Cooper's rarest knives.
