Description

A SAMLL PORTABLE LEATHER CHEST, Tibet, 17th Century. The chest is made from sturdy yak hide. The sides are stitched and with re-enforcing brass mountings. These portable chests were used for storing valuables while traveling. The leather surface has developed a very desirable reddish brown tone with very rich patina. 16.5cm x 12cm x 9cm.

Condition

Good condition with an antique repair on the top right as visible in the pictures.
