Description

A LEATHER CHEST, Tibet, 17th Century. The chest is made from sturdy yak hide with re-enforcing brass mountings. There are residues of mineral pigment paint, which has been faded over the centuries. The leather surface has developed a very desirable reddish brown tone with very rich patina. 29cm x 19cm x 22cm.

Condition

Good condition with extensive signs of age.
