A BRASS REPOUSSÉ SUKUNDA LAMP, NEPAL, 19th Century. A Sukunda is highly decorate ritual vessel used among Hindus and Buddhists alike in the Newari culture. It is an oil lamp that is lit at the commencement of a religious festival. This particular Sukunda is very well decorated with Ganesha at the center, Shiva above that and another deity underneath. 21.5cm x 18.75cm.
