Jessica Tandy, 8x10, signed photo, 1940’s, Facts: Jessica Tandy (1909-1994) English-American stage and film actress. She first appeared on stage in 1926 in "Henry V" and "King Lear". She won a Tony Award for her role as Blanche Dubois in "A Streetcar Named Desire" in 1948. She had a supporting role in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" in 1963, and a Tony Award-winning performance in "The Gin Game" in 1977. She was a member of the original acting company of the Guthrie Theater. She appeared in the Broadway production of "Foxfire" in 1983, winning both a Tony Award and an Emmy Award for role as Annie Nations. She appeared in Cocoon in 1985. She became the oldest actress to receive an Academy Award for Best Actress in "Driving Miss Daisy" in 1989. She also won a BAFTA and a Golden Globe, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for "Fried Green Tomatoes" in 1991.
