Marilyn Monroe, photograph of press conference for "Prince and the Showgirl" (with man on couch), 1957, 8 x 10, Facts: (1926–1962) American actress, model, singer and sex symbol. Her first film contract was in 1946 with Twentieth Century-Fox "The Asphalt Jungle" and "All About Eve", both in 1950 which were both critically acclaimed. By 1953 she was getting leading roles "Niagara", "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", "How to Marry a Millionaire" and "The Seven Year Itch" in 1955. She received a Golden Globe nomination for "Bus Stop" in 1956 and "The Prince and the Showgirl" in 1957. She received a Golden Globe Award for "Some Like It Hot" in 1959. Her last film co-starred Clark Gable titled "The Misfits". She was born Norma Jeane Mortensen Baker.
