She received a Golden Globe nomination for "Bus Stop" in 1956 and "The Prince and the Showgirl" in 1957. She received a Golden Globe Award for "Some Like It Hot" in 1959. Her last film co-starred Clark Gable titled "The Misfits". She was born Norma Jeane Mortensen Baker. *Auctioneer's Note: First a note from the seller- Was up all night doing Marilyn research. The photographer for the hat picture (lot 2) is Carl Perutz (very rare) to have that print, it should be more money. The other photo on the bed (lot 1), is Cecil Beaton, (another very rare print) that should be more as well. Sorry my bad, working three jobs while doing this doesn't give me the time I needed to research these two prints. The one with the hat was shot in 1958, it was used for the Easter issue of a woman's magazine. Flint Butera A note from Terry: My apologies to the Milton H. Greene estate and family for labeling this photograph as one taken by Milton. Milton's son contacted me to make me aware of the error and I am grateful for his contact. No matter how much research an Auctioneer can do, resources either online or in print, when dealing with the past, can be difficult, if sometimes impossible. That said, the corrections have been made and I hope that the integrity of OCA Auctions remains intact. Terry Catalano, owner/auctioneer, Ma. #2539
