Description
This radio works-ish. The radio will play audio quietly like it is barely catching signal unless you hold it at an angle and then it works perfect. Likely just bad antenna connection. All antennas are present and in good shape, radio needs restoration. In the movie Diamonds Are Forever (1971), Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Charles Gray) owns a Philips 22RL798 Antoinette Transworld de Luxe radio. The radio can be seen clearly on Blofeld's desk in his office on the oil rig when he listens to a news broadcast about the nuclear explosions in North Dakota and Russia that Blofeld himself created.First we reported that the model was the L6X38 T, but it is actually the 22RL798 (thanks for Bjern Snelders for the tip). The 22RL798 has the text below the turning knobs while the L6X38 T has the text on the right next to it. And the lowest turning knob is not the RF-gain, but finetuning. The Transworld de Luxe Antoinette radio was built by Dutch electronics company Philips. The radio measures 370 x 260 x 120 mm (14.6 x 10.2 x 4.7 inch), weighs 6 kg (13.216 lb), uses 6 1,5 volt batteries, and has a stand on which it can be turned around...........Sale Sale Sale 10 % Off Every Lot Sale Sale Sale.............
