This series, showing images of the arrival of the three aviation heros Hermann Köhl, James Fritzmaurice and Freiherr Ehrenfried von Hünefeld in New York, illustrates the enormous enthusiasm Americans had for such brave undertakings. Large crowds and abundant ticker tape line the streets. Some photos show the heros on stages, at the microphone or in cars with police escorts and confetti rain. The flight was particularly dangerous as the pilots had to fly with less fuel than planned and started in bad conditions. - Crease and wear in edges and corners, otherwise in good condition. - With original press kit envelope from Pacific & Atlantic Photos Inc., 1928. - Stronger traces of use.
