Description

Marion Kaulitz, Munich, Germany, 1908-1912. These child dolls were part of the Puppen Reform Movement, advocating dolls with faces and clothing that looked like real children, particularly the peasant children from the country who visited the city markets. Composition face with hand-painted features (small nose and cheek rubs, small dot of paint spatter beside eye), rosy cheeks (look a little splotchy, as usual on some of these dolls), molded upper eyelids with brown eyelash line, closed mouth with peaked upper lip, original bobbed brown mohair wig; original and excellent fully jointed composition body. Original navy blue wool jumper suit (a few small holes) with red print shirt and stockings, replaced appropriate leather shoes. Fresh to the market from a long-established collection. Very desirable, rarely found doll.
