Description
Slava prodolzhatelyam veslikogo dela Parizhskoj Kommuny! [Glory to Followers of the Great Tradition of the Paris Commune], a poster by an unidentified artist (signed K.R. in the plate). Ordered by MOPR Executive Committee, Moscow, 1928, 92 x 63 cm.
From 1923 onwards, MOPR, the International Red Aid Society, celebrated March 18, the founding day of the Paris Commune, as the International Day of Aid for Political Prisoners.
The consignor's suggestion that the poster was produced by Konstantin Rotov (1902-1959) appears somewhat doubtful, as Rotov typically signed his posters “K. Rotov”, not “K.R.”.
Search extension words: Russian poster, Soviet poster.
