This is a U.S. sword and scabbard from 1902, which was during the Philippine American War. The grip is unusual because it is all cast metal, instead of ray skin or leather. There is some wear to the black paint. The leather at the ricasso is intact. The maker name appears there: "The M.C. Lilley & Co." The blade has some ornamentation but it is mostly worn. The blade overall is still good. The scabbard has surface rust, with neck and rings present. The blade length is approximately 32 inches, and in the scabbard the overall length is 38 inches.
