Monumental early twentieth century yacht signal cannon by Strong. Breech loading, two gauge with a 32 inch barrel. Engraving on the breech reads "Manuf'd by the Strong Firearms Co., Pat'd Jan 9, 83 New Haven, USA". Also showing is the Eagle logo. The text and logo are very clear showing very little wear which is unusual as 100 years of polishing results in this information being polished away. The carriage is in good order with a rich varnished finish. The barrel has a bright polished finish. Most of the brass hardware wears a warm lacquer. The original wheels are without the outer treads although there is one unattached one included with this lot. also fitted with a firing cord. 37" long, overall x 19" wide x 19" tall.
