A CHINESE YELLOW SILK DRAGON ROBE (JI FU)

Finely embroidered on the front and back panels in couched gold-wrapped thread, satin stitched with nine five-clawed dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls, leaping amidst clouds interspersed with the eight Buddhist emblems (bajixiang), above a hem of roiling waves, within similar decorated black silk borders and gold braid repeated on the horse hoof cuffs, with black corded sleeve extensions, all picked out in shades of red, purple, green, pink, blue, and grey against a yellow background. Overall very, very good condition. 50 x 78 inches (127 x 198 cm)
