Description
Plenty of road rash, dents, and surface rust. No cancerous rust, though. Solid, thick metal. A solid very restorable example. Very complete, but some things are missing, such as the rate meter and original door handles. The Taxi was purchased by Harold LeMay on an unknown date. The LeMay Family Museum might have information for the original purchase. The Taxi was sold by the Lucky Collector Car Auction in about 2015 at the Marymount location. I acquired the taxi 4 years ago and has been barn stored since. I understand that when Harold got the Taxi to Tacoma, he put on new tires and a very quick black paint job. The paint is flaking off in places and some of the Taxi yellow is showing through. Original upholstery and door panels are in place in the passenger compartment. The driver's seat has been reupholstered. The headliner is gone. The roof fabric is off. Gauges are present. The original motor is a Buick 6. It is missing some parts, but an additional Buick 6 with the needed parts comes with the sale. Needs complete restoration.
