Description
George III/George IV three piece silver tea service of circular compressed form, crested and with central reeded band. Hallmarked Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard I London 1817 and 1822, date letter to the milk jug not legible. Gross combined weight 36 ozt (1128 grams).
Condition
The tea service displays heavy general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing, numerous dints and bumps. Numerous small repairs visible including to the handle of the milk jug which has since split. Different crest visible to the teapot and sugar, the crest to the sugar is particularly rubbed. Deterioration to the mounts of the wooden handle to the teapot, the hinge lid to the teapot allows sideways movement. The hallmarks to the teapot and sugar bowl are clear and legible, marks to the cream jug are extremely rubbed.
