Description
INCLUDING CLEANOUT & MOUTH PIECE - HORN WITH INTRIGUITE ENGRAVINGS IN ORIGINAL CASE - MEASURES 18"L OVERALL - HORN HAS BEEN TWISTED (DAMAGE) - Frantisek Lukavec (1869-1948), who worked in Prague from 1898 on. On rotary trumpet in general, I find two references. The first, published in ITG Journal (International Trumpet Guild Journal), v. 28(issue 3), pp. 52-55 is an article called "The Rotary Trumpet, an introduction." Reportedly, the rotary trumpet has a broader sound (and easier to play softly); it also blends in with other brass instruments better. And more and more orchestra players now own rotary trumpets along with their other instruments. The author refers to the rotary trumpet as "German" and listed many German makers on his list.
