The Bass Museum & Private Collections

The Bass Museum of Art was founded in 1964 through the donation of a private collection by John and Johanna Bass to the City of Miami Beach. Designer of iconic resorts such as The Fontainebleau, Eden Roc and Americana, Morris Lapidus helped define the MiMo look. His buildings with neo-baroque interiors enticed visitors with luxurious visions of vacation resort life. You will not want to miss the opportunity be a part of the history by acquiring any of a number of rare architectural elements; all designed by Mr. Lapidus for his personal Miami Estate. These items were installed at The Bass as part of the 2007 exhibit, “Promises of Paradise,” which later toured museums throughout the country; renewing interest in the architectural treasures of Miami.
