A world traveler, Mrs. Alden bought wherever she went. A trip to China resulted in several pieces of furniture, a few fine porcelains, 2 fine 19th century ladies collars, scrolls and other objects. A trip to Iran following her passion for textiles resulted in 8 fine scatter rugs. Native American contemporary beadwork captured her interest most of all. Many trips to Santa Fe later Alden published a book featuring premier examples of jewelry, cradle boards, clothing, rattles, kachina's, fans including many SWAIA category winners. In addition to the Alden material Session 1 includes a 30 lot collection Santos and other carving, several crèche figures, mint Royal Crown Derby Imari coffee and dinnerware service, Baccarat and other finery. James Mont and other mid century designers are represented and blend with a fine 18th century French chest and other French furniture and 2 interesting patent models in the first session.
