Fountain Pens, MCM, Grand Tour Estate

Featuring a great selection of estate fresh merchandise, the sale opens with 56 lots of fountain pens most sold in large groups all from the estate collection of "A Fine Italian Hand" restoration service. In a radical shift the next 25 lots come from an estate collection housed in the Osborne Building on 7th Avenue and features 15 excellent Grand Tour classical bronzes, a heavily carved Renaissance revival library table with full winged griffins and several other cast and carved pieces in the style. A Larchmont NY estate yields lots for both sessions with the session one focus on a fine pair of Tommy Parzinger consoles in burl with a pair of mirrors, a Tiffany chiming tall clock, an excellent exotic veneer and aluminum Art Deco desk as well as mid century lighting and a Steinway Model M grand. A trip to Engelwood NJ yielded a trove of quality furnishings for Session 2 and a large gilt signed Grady and McKeever frame and three Fender guitars including a Stratocaster for the first. A closet in an 18th century center hall colonial in nearby Chelsea NY surprised when two large photographs surfaced by Bert Stern; a ballerina and a great Marilyn Monroe. Some interesting Chinese items, Baccarat, Lalique, Venetian glass, Minton, Coalport and other 'fancy' lots are mixed throughout other bronzes and an exceptional near mint Louis Vuitton fitted steamer. Several quality and varied items of furniture are among the other items of interest in the 200 lots of the first session. A sale in itself, the second session is fast paced and is more reflective of the firm' s 33 years of operation. This auction is no exception. 150 lots of furniture from Danish wall units to Baker sofas to oak dressers; garden lots, oriental rugs, pounds of sterling and 75 very interesting lots from the estate of Bruce Anderson guarantee to offer something to practically everyone Expect many surprises and late additions, if possible we encourage you to preview the items in person.
