Brutten Herrick Collection - 20th Century Art

The Brutten Herrick Collection of Contemporary Art began in 1970, when Drs. Milton Brutten and Helen Herrick acquired their first works together. Within two decades, the collection comprised more than twelve hundred works representing three hundred artists. Over the years the Brutten Herrick Collection was widely exhibited at many institutions including Philadelphia Art Alliance and Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, The Clocktower in New York, and the Ben Shahn Gallery at William Patterson College in New Jersey. Selected works have been included in exhibitions at The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, The Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania and numerous museum here and abroad. This exceptional offering of works from the 1960s through the 1980s, is presented to the market for the first time in this auction.
