Phyllis Lucas Gallery - History of the World
Take a glimpse into world history, as told through over 20,000 antique prints of all kinds in this one final auction. Don?t miss this institution's last glance at the past.
All the prints are from the actual archives of the famed gallery, which was at the forefront of the Manhattan art world for decades, dating back to 1928. In the mid-1960s, building on their collaboration with Salvador Dali, the Phyllis Lucas Gallery (aka the Old Print Center) became the first North American publisher of his lithographs and published 26 editions of his images, including the extraordinary Lucas Collection of Dali Originals, published between 1965 and 1974.
Now you can take a glance inside the storied New York art world from all those years. After hosting the Phyllis Lucas Gallery auction Part One and Part Two earlier this year, Roland Auction saves the best for last, now grouping many lots together with multiple pieces from the vast archives for this not-to-be-missed auction opportunity.
Please Note: The items offered are located at the Phyllis Lucas Gallery. The sale will be conducted online and live from the Roland Auctions NY gallery in Glen Cove, NY. Art pick up will be from the Phyllis Lucas Gallery location, and must be removed by Friday, November 17, 2023 or moving and storage charges will accrue at the buyer's expense. Fixtures can only be removed between Monday, November 20 and Thursday, November 30. The premises must be vacated December 1, 2023. Failure to remove sold items by then will result in moving and storage charges at the buyer's expense.
