Fall Fine and Decorative Art

Cowan's Fall Fine and Decorative Art Auction will take place on October 8, 2011. The sale, to be held at Cowan's salesroom, will offer over 400 lots of fine and decorative art items from the 18th to the 20th centuries. The sale features American folk art, furniture, decorative arts, and paintings, as well as Asian and Continental works. Highlights in the sale include: a Regina Music Box; a fine Exhibition Model Champion Workplow;.the seven-volume set by John James Audubon titled The Birds of America, plus the three-volume set of Quadrupeds of North America in matching leather bindings; French Cathedral painting by Elizabeth Nourse; Amis De Toujours bronze by Demetre Chiparus; a Mitchell Rammelsberg hall tree; fine coin silver Presentation Pitcher with engraved dedication, "To the Captain of the Cunard Line's Britannica;" a bucolic landscape by Carleton Wiggins; an Anna Pottery stoneware Railway pig bottle; and much more.
