October Rookwood & Fine Estate Auction

Auctions By The Bay, Inc.is proud to offer over 250 lots of fine Rookwood pottery in our October Estate Auction. These pieces come from the private collection of Gerard Hurley, an avid Rookwood collector for over 40 years.
Mr Hurley's interest in Rookwood was sparked when he went to live with his uncle EG Hurley at the age of 6. His uncle and aunt, Irene Bishop, were both decorators at Rookwood Studios at the time. 70 years later, Mr Hurley is turning over a portion of his collection for auction. On October 11th, at 10:30am, Gerard Hurley will be on hand to present a 30 minute lecture, with slides, on Rookwood pottery prior to opening the sale with the Rookwood lots. He will also have on display original items from his family collection, including etchings, drawings and photographs. We hope that you will join us for this exciting event (there is no admission charge). Sale Includes Paintings by artists such as Charles Harmon, Miles Early, Joseph Engelhardt, Emil Kosa and Henri Etienne Dumaige. Other highlights include: Fine Jewelry, American Furniture From the Victorian and Arts & Crafts periods, European Furniture, Cameo Glass, Sterling, Crystal, two large assembled sets of Haviland Limoges China, 19th & 20th Century lighting, Collection of 18th & 19th Century Sheet Music, Comic Books and more.
