Featuring the Satsuma collection of William and Jo-Ann Van Rooy, originally acquired from the Japanese display at the Louisiana Purchase Exhibition of 1904 by Dr. Donald Sutherland of Canada, the collection includes works by such notables as Kinkozan, Ryozan, Kozan, and Meizan, as well as Japanese lacquer boxes and Ukiyo-e woodblock prints over 90 lots. Additionally from local and private collectors: an array of Victorian cranberry glass, including an enamel decorated punch bowl and a round tray reminiscent of Moser; 19th century majolica from collector June J. Morsord; antique Chinese ceramics including Song and Ming Dynasty; an art deco era Cartier sterling ice bucket; a Gorham Puritan sterling tea and coffee set and tray; Belleek Tridacna tea ware with tray; bronze sculptures after Remington, Russell, and Powell; a charming French automaton bisque head doll with music box, circa 1900, as well as French and German bisque head dolls, one of which child-size, and an antique poured wax doll; The Works of Thomas Hardy in 37 volumes and signed by the author (1919), and Rudyard Kipling Seven Seas edition of books in 27 volumes (1899); as well as antique furnishings, quality reproductions by Baker, fine jewelry and oriental rugs from antique to modern.
